H.Where specifically in your curriculum can you apply differentiated instruction to enhance student learning? Please provide examples and rationale


I attempt to incorporate differentiated instruction through my use of questioning. I will question all students about their homework to hold them accountable for it, and will try and call on every student at least two or three times per week. If I have a student who is lower level I will ask them a lower level question – maybe a true false question of simply a numerical answer from a homework problem. I usually reserve the why questions for the higher ability students as well as questions dealing with change to provide those students access to the deeper meaning behind the math du jour. Finally if I have a higher ability student who is willing to share (not all are) I will send them to the SMARTboard and have them create a sketch or equation.
